Mehr Disability Law Group’s client submitted to an independent medical examination set up by MLS. The examining doctor’s report, however, was altered after the doctor dictated and transcribed it. Mehr Disability Law Group investigates and found numerous discrepancies between the report submitted by MLS to Wausau Insurance Company and the one dictated and transcribed by the doctor’s own transcriptionist. Mehr Disability Law Group wins another ruling against MLS National Medical Evaluations, Inc.
For the second time, Mehr Disability Law Group has been successful in defeating MLS’s efforts to avoid a trial in this interesting case. MLS is a Michigan company that works with insurance companies and locates physicians to perform “independent medical evaluations” MLS also provides a free dictation service for some of these doctors, located in various parts of the company. In the Hall case, the IME report transcribed by the doctor (Dr. James Templin in Lexington, Kentucky) was materially different than the report MLS transcribed and sent to Wausau. The trial on this case, alleging tortious interference with contractual relations, fraudulent misrepresentation and insurance statute violations is set for December 8, 2008. Read more
